The Skytrain Canada Line connects downtown to YVR Airport, while the Skytrain Expo and Millennium Lines cover the rest of the city. Bikeshare options like Mobi Bike lets you pick up and drop off bikes across downtown, Yaletown, and Coal Harbour. Great for short rides along the Seawall or to nearby attractions like Stanley Park.

The 27-acre Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has become a treetop playground, with multiple high-rise walks showing off the natural wonder of the area and educational outposts sharing First Nation’s history. Something about the Pacific Northwest brews an ardent love for a fine cup of coffee, the kind that’s crafted with the intent to be sipped with a smile rather than gulped down with caffeinated speed. Vancouver’s 49th Parallel is one such purveyor, working directly with farmers around the world uniquelyvancouvershow.com to cultivate rich beans for their cozy concoctions.
Podcasters behind Stuff You Should Know announce live show in Vancouver
Old landmarks are still preserved and have plaques commemorating their historical value to the area. Two famous landmarks are a bronze statue of Jack Deighton and a 1977 steam-powered clock (located on the corner of Water and Cambie Streets). I always recommend skipping the mass-produced “Indigenous-style” souvenirs (the ones you see in generic gift shops like made-in-China totem poles) and instead buying directly from Indigenous-owned businesses and galleries. Not only are you supporting the artists, but you’re also taking home a piece of art with deep cultural meaning. Having lived in Vancouver for over 20 years, I’ve bought countless gifts for family and friends—whether it’s artisan chocolates from Granville Island, handmade pottery from local studios, or books by Vancouver authors. I’ve also learned what not to buy (hello, mass-produced “Canada” mugs made in China).
There will be over 60 Artisans and Food Vendors present, along with a continuous lineup of LIVE performers. Attendees can also participate in engaging workshops focused on art, dance, and yoga, in addition to various other attractions and activities. So if you’re into the brand, this is definitely something you should check out.
Granville Island Public Market
With bustling nightclubs and bars, the Granville Street Entertainment District is one of the busiest places on a weekend. You can be easily distracted by the neon lights, but don’t forget to look down at the sidewalk to see BC’s very own Star Walk. You’ll tour Edible Canada, while sampling fine foods from local farmers and vendors at the Granville Public Market. If you’re looking for something truly special that captures the essence of Vancouver, these gifts go beyond the usual souvenirs.
It’s a pretty clock, but that’s sort of it, and if seeing this clock is all you do in Gastown, you’re definitely not getting the most of your visit. Alright, with the touristy musts out of the way, I now want to share some of my personal favourite things to do in Vancouver with you. Stanley Park is an iconic slice of town located right in downtown Vancouver, featuring prominent attractions such as the Vancouver Aquarium, the city’s famous totem poles, idyllic Prospect Point, and the towering Lionsgate Bridge. If there’s one thing I demand every visitor do in Vancouver, it’s a jaunt along the Stanley Park Seawall.
- The Skytrain Canada Line connects downtown to YVR Airport, while the Skytrain Expo and Millennium Lines cover the rest of the city.
- If you grew up here, you might not think twice about this tradition, however firecrackers and Halloween are a uniquely B.C.
- They’re collected and later recycled, perhaps to become part of another artistic tribute to love.
- Vancouver is known for its strong sustainability culture, and I always love supporting brands that focus on eco-friendly practices, ethical production, and reducing waste.
In addition to the icy plunge, the event is a full-blown festivity with live music, food trucks, and warming tents to defrost those toes. And, for the competitive spirits, there’s even a 100-yard dash to a marker buoy. You’re there and the gentle trot of the horses syncs with the heartbeat of the city, while a professional guide narrates your journey through the lush landscapes. If you’re lucky, you might even exchange a nod with a local raccoon (just kidding, please don’t actually do that). Our Loft Studio is an 700 square foot space perfect for intimate gatherings such as baby showers, bridal showers, tea parties, and brunch themed birthdays.
Taboo sex show returns to Vancouver in time for Valentine’s season
As I mentioned before, apart from the Doctor Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden, there’s not a lot to enjoy for tourists in Vancouver’s Chinatown, which is unfortunately very interlinked with the roughest part of Vancouver, the Downtown East Side. Vancouver’s Chinese community is particularly huge (hi!!) which means you’ll find some of the best Chinese food in the world right here. A great way to do this would be through a Gastown food tour, which brings you to a lot of the area’s best spots. Gastown is one of the loveliest (and most well-known) parts of Vancouver, but its main draw for a lot of tourists is the Gastown Steam Clock, which I’ve always found a bit baffling. If your main goal is to see the bridge, head to Capilano (and get tickets in advance here to make it more painless), but if you simply want to enjoy the best of North Vancouver’s nature, then Lynn Canyon is much better value. I won’t lie, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is MUCH better than the one in Lynn Canyon (it’s just way longer and more majestic) but Lynn Canyon is much less crowded with tourists and offers some great hiking opportunities for free.
Overall, if you’re seeking a fun, social evening that combines Vancouver’s local charm with a theatrical twist, this murder mystery is a great option. It’s especially appealing for groups of friends, couples, or solo travelers wanting to meet new people during their city visit. We’re always on the lookout for experiences that combine local flavor with entertainment, and this show hits both marks.
